For their coverage of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, NBC Sports asked me to create 20 unique Illustrations that were animated as interstitials during the broadcast and streaming on Peacock, introducing the sports as they came on. The images also embellished the NBC set during the closing ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
The original inspiration for the style came from classic Olympics posters from the 30's and 40's, which were traditionally painted with gouache. I attempted to paint with a similar minimalism, as well as lean on texture as a defining element.
The work was viewed by a global audience and received extremely positive feedback from the network and viewers. It was truly an amazing project to be a part of.
